![]() ![]() Thrust into her new life where knows neither the language or the customs, Circe proves to be an amazing heroine, showing incredible strength and resilience (and humour) as she slowly makes friends, finds her place and grows to love her warrior husband and his world.Ĭirce and Lahn are both fantastic characters. I’m not going to go into details explaining it because, honestly, it’s hard enough to read, but Circe is ‘claimed’ by Dax Lahn, the King of the savage and primal nation of Korwahk, and appointed as its Queen. ![]() ![]() We are introduced immediately into the action when the heroine, Circe, wakes up in a parallel universe (not that she knows this), and is subjected to the ‘Wife Hunt’. But this is balanced with KA’s usual lightness and humour and one of the most incredible love stories I have ever read. Not for the feint-hearted, parts of this book are shockingly brutal, and gut-wrenchingly emotional. Be it contemporary, paranormal or fantasy, she rocks it, every single freaking time! OMG, THIS BOOK WAS FUCKING PHENOMENAL!!! Not that I want to compare it to her other books, because this book is so different from any of the other series of hers that I have read, but it just shows the range that this woman has as an author, she’s absolutely amazing. Just when I think I have read the best of Kristen Ashley she comes along with something completely different that just blows everything else out of the water. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE READ!Ħ STARS!!! (Because 5 just isn’t enough!) ![]()

First off, I have to say that multiple points of view is a hard thing to pull off, especially since all of the characters have to have their own distinct voices. Nels (our main guy), Tyra (our main girl) and our villain. They have an equal partnership and I think that's beautiful.Ģ) The book is written in third-person from three points-of-view. ![]() Everything they are good at they have worked hard at. Both characters are strong in their own ways, and it's never that one of them is leaning more on the other's strength. I guess what I'm saying is that I love this book and I would highly recommend it to all of you.ġ) I love the couple. There was never a dull moment, and I don't mean it was wall-to-wall action, I mean that in 344 pages I never got bored. I just fell so in love with the plot and the characters, I just wasn't ready for it to be over. I read it so fast that it felt short but it's a decent size novel. There is comedy, romance, adventure, action, magic, ghosts, what's not to love? If that doesn't sound like a great book to you, you are dead wrong. Why did the Renaissance begin in Florence? They wanted artists to have the same status as intellectuals and philosophers, unlike the medieval craftsmen that came before them. They argued that their work-which was based on science and math-was a product of their intellect just as much as their hands. Scientific naturalism allowed artists in the Early Renaissance to begin to demand that society think of them as more than just skilled manual laborers. The term “naturalism” describes this effort. The artists of the Early Renaissance used scientific tools (like linear perspective and the study of anatomy and geometry) to make their art more naturalistic, more like real life. Renaissance artists were anxious to gain specialized knowledge of the inner workings of the human body, which would allow them to paint and sculpt the body in many different positions. Even though the Catholic Church prohibited dissection, artists and scientists performed dissection to better understand the body. The best way to learn human anatomy is not just to look at the outside of the body, but to study anatomy through dissection. 1487, pen and ink over metalpoint on prepared paper (Royal Collection, London) ![]() \): Leonardo da Vinci, Écorché (A Dead or Moribund Man in Bust Length), c. ![]() ![]() ![]() Questions, notes, meanings, examples, exercises and tests below for Summary - The Story of My Experiments with Truth - Summary & Themes | Novels | Notes, Videos & Tests.
